My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. In the past few years my closest friends have had their lives touched by cancer and lost those dearest to them. I wanted to raise some funds to further research into stopping this horrendous disease and also wanted to get fitter. I decided to combine the two by taking up running and embarking on a C25K programme 8 weeks ago. The culmination of this will be taking part in the 10K race. Now those that know me will know that I am not natural runner, I really like the couch and a good book in fact! However, I’ve dug deep, worked hard and have currently achieved running a distance of 5K. With 6 weeks to go, I hope to run the whole 10K. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
