Sharon's Race for Life

Everyone has their own reasons for taking part in this fundraiser. No one gets through life without being affected or knows someone affected by this horrible disease. For me, no words will describe the devastation we as a family have been left with after losing my mum and best friend only a few months ago to cancer. The realisation of never being able to see her face, hear her voice, or do normal day to day things with her breaks my heart every day. For me, raising money, no matter how much it may be for this cause is important, so maybe we can stop someone else feeling this horrible feeling I feel in the pit of my stomach every moment of every day or the heartache I feel with little things that reminds me Wee Liz is no longer with us. Even though I am grateful I had this magnificent woman in my life for 40 years it was far from long enough. I'm so proud and privileged to have her as a mum and nothing can change that.
