My Story
‘Running’ in the Race for Life has always been an ambition of mine. However, like most things in life I kept putting it off. As a family we’ve recently lost close relatives to Cancer and have witnessed the devasting effect it has, not just on the person fighting the disease, but also the family members who love that person so much and pray each day for their recovery. A month ago I decided that my life style needed to change. I can see the big 50 on the horizon and know that if I’m to avoid life changes illnesses in the future I need to make changes to my life style now.One of those changes was to take up running. Inspired by my father in law who is over 70 and my husband who take part in regular ParkRuns I’ve started training for my own ParkRun in May. I always wanted to ‘run’ the Race for Life and look forward to that privilege on June 17 in Preston. I will be thinking of my Nan, Auntie Carol and Uncle Alan whilst I do my run and also all the other families affected by this disease.
