My Story

I'M RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON!!!!! How did this even happen?! Well, here's my story... On NYE 2022 I made a promise to myself as I was about to enter my 40th year. A simple promise to start running again. And 2023 started with me going for the first run in a really long time on New Years Day and I've kept running! I took part in two 10k's in 2023 and not only has it improved my mental wellbeing and my fitness - it's given me the confidence to put my name forward to run a marathon - It's ok, I'm laughing too! So, this year I am pleased (and a little terrified) to share that I will be running the London Marathon for Cancer Research UK (CRUK). I feel truly honoured to have been given this opportunity and proud that I made a promise to myself 12 months ago and stuck to it! Many people I know have been touched by cancer and I find it truly shocking that 1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetime. I have pledged to raise £3,000 for Cancer Research UK (CRUK) and I am truly grateful to everyone who has kindly sponsored me to take on the biggest challenge of my life - but it's nothing compared to the challenge faced by those battling this awful disease, so let's do this - you can follow my progress on Strava and I'll be updating this page with regular updates - the highs, the lows and everything in between.
