My Story
Just over 12 months ago I received an unexpected 40th birthday present. If not for the incredible staff at Edinburgh’s Western General, the future would be bleak. Instead my recovery has gone exceptionally well and I’m looking forward (ish) to my first marathon. At this time Cancer Research has committed staff and resources to the battle against Covid-19. Along with all other frontline workers, we owe them a huge debt of gratitude. When the dust finally settles and the world returns to a degree of normality, cancer will still be one of the world’s biggest killers and continue to impact the lives of millions of people. In recent months ongoing trials have been abandoned and funding expectations slashed. It’s therefore vital that we all do what we can to help ensure that resources are in place to further the ongoing fight against cancer, for the months and years ahead. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please pass my page on to family and friends. Remember it’s not just about a chubby fella running 26.2 miles, it’s about helping improve the outlook for cancer sufferers in the future.
