My Story
Hello friends, We’re back for the 2nd Annual “Scotts 24 hour gameathon”. And once again we’re raising money for Stand Up To Cancer. As some people will know, I had a bit of a scare at the start of this year, which resulted in a pretty neck scar to match my dads and also half of my thyroid being removed. Thankfully after a nerve wracking 6 week wait my tumour turned out to be benign (phew)! But what really amazed me was that my surgeon had a treatment plan for every eventuality. And after seeing my dad go through treatment (surgery and radiotherapy) it made me appreciate how lucky we are to live in a time where cancer no longer means something bad and with our amazing NHS, cancer doesn’t have to be a death sentence. And that’s only possible because of research and fundraising to make that research continue. And so at 9am on 14 December I will begin my 24 hour gameathon. I’ll be streaming it all so I’ll share a link closer to the time. Last year we made £330 which was amazing, however this year I’m looking to hit £350. So please, give what you can. Because it really can happen to anyone. And unfortunately not everyone is as lucky as I was.
