For Emma - my sister and my hero. Kicking arse together since 1994 and many more years to come!
My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. After intensive radiotherapy she was placed in remission and has remained happy and healthy ever since. Then, almost ten years on, my best friend was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma and has been undergoing a gruelling course of chemo, being pumped with "el diablo rojo" every two weeks in a bid to kill the cancer in her neck and chest. I'm running for both of these amazing women who have given me strength and inspiration throughout my life. 5k doesn't seem like much, but for me it's been a long, hard drag from barely managing to run for more than a minute without stopping, to getting up at 6am and running for half an hour without keeling over! Please donate what you can; every single penny goes towards fighting cancer and helping thousands more amazing people like mum and Emma.
