My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This March I’m walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer. In January 2020 I asked my Zumba classes to vote for a charity that I felt passionately about and that they felt the same way about. Cancer Research UK was by far the most popular. I started making plans to raise money through raffles and charity classes. Then lockdown happened. Instead of being creative, I chose to put aside my plans completely in the hope that I would be able to do something 'in person' soon. A year later and I realised that I hadn't done anything. As well as this, I had lost a much loved member of my amateur dramatics group to cancer. So I decided that if I couldn't do things 'in person' to raise money, then I would start by doing something on my own.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
