" never have I ever met a real superhero, but little did I know Mick was one all along. 3 years ago Mick had an accident at work, this followed on with more poor health, heart bypass, strokes, cancer behind his eye resulting from him losing his eye and then kidney failure resulting in dialysis 3 times a week. He bounced back from all of these and came home last year, fighting all the way. He learned to walk and talk properly again, he even got his memory back. Then in September last year we was told the cancer was now in his liver and that it would be terminal. The whole family felt as if their world had been turned upside down. He'd fought everything, but it was cancer that spread with a vengeance. The cancer then spread to his spine and hips and in the time of 2 weeks, we all saw the man we loved bed bound, unable to move and in pain. To all of our devastation Mick passed away last Thursday, losing his fight to cancer. He was the strongest person we knew and he will always be our superhero hero”
