My Story
Our dearest friends youngest son was diagnosed with a rare liver cancer (roughly 10 cases per year in the UK). On his second birthday Josh started his treatment plan and continues to progress through it. Despite this being a brutal ordeal, our friends have found levels of strength, love and bravery that I'm in awe of! A blog of Josh's full journey to date, written by his parents, can be found following the facebook link blow. Approached by one of their other friends to do this run I initially panicked. The last 'sweating' in public I did was in secondary school PE and I have been adamant that physical exercise and I do not get along. However, having had a swift talk with myself I decided if Josh and his family can go through everything they have and continue to do so, then I sure as hell can get round a 5k run to show them how much they mean to me. I asked for running trainers for my birthday, got a playlist sorted and started running in the dark (so no one could see me). Much to my surprise I've found I do enjoy parts of running (mainly the downhill's!) and so here I am. I have NEVER ran before, I'm 6 runs into training and am bricking it! I'm doing it for the bravest 2 year old and strongest most loving family I know. Please support me in anyway you can. I want to make every step and bead of sweat count. https://m.facebook.com/home.php#!/Joshs-Journey-195478271022824/?tsid=0.8015225192683515&source=result
