Sarah's Race for Life

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. 25 years ago my sister and I sat with a close friend as she lost her long fight with cancer. 15 years later when Nathan was diagnosed with lymphoma, it felt like a death sentence. Due to the advances in cancer research and the amazing team at the Liverpool Royal - Nathan’s treatment was successful. 5 years after that, Nathan’s cousin Karina, was diagnosed with colon cancer. She showed the same courage as Nathan, and kicked cancer’s butt! I realised that although research has helped fight cancer, personal fitness goes a long way in helping you to avoid it in the first place. I am almost at the end of Couch to 5K and I can honestly say nothing was as hard as the first 60 second run! So we are running for the survivors and those who fought valiantly, but were overpowered. Please give what you can no matter how small.
