In January 2019 my family and I heard the words that you never want to hear. Those of you that don’t know I have been fighting thyroid cancer, I had major surgery in February, this was not only total removal of the thyroid but the cancer had spread to lymph nodes and I required a full neck disection. The procedure was a lengthy one during which a large amount of lymph nodes were removed. In March I was isolated so that I could receive radioiodine treatment in an attempt to zap the remaining cancer. Although I have to undergo constant regular surveillance for life, things are looking good and we are very hopeful.
Running the London Marathon has always been a dream of mine and now what better time to do it and to give something back. I will be running and raising money for cancer research. We are now told one in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our life time. I am proof that cancer can happen to anyone, please help me raise money by donating to my page so together we can beat it.
