My Story
I’m swimming approximately 7 miles from Minehead to Porlock. I have never swam this far before but I love a challenge so here I go!! I’m raising money for Cancer Research. This is a charity that not only means a lot to me personally but I have also seen family and friends suffer too, some of who are sadly no longer with us. After my own personal experience with cancer, I’d love to give back, to show my gratitude for the research that has allowed me to make a full recovery, in the hope it will help others too. My challenge will take place sometime in August or September 2025. This is weather and tide dependent so I will keep you posted! It will be short notice so watch this space! A big thank you to Mike Richardson of Porlock Weir Charters who has so kindly offered to be my support boat and is working hard on promoting this challenge. Thank you to Luke Taylor who has taken me out on several training swims which have been invaluable. Also my dearest friend Hannah Bays for training with me, we have so much fun 😂 Thank you to my partner Carl. He has the patience of a saint and is so supportive, you are one in a million 😊 Cancer Research UK’s work has helped double cancer survival in the UK. But we need to go further, faster. Donate today to help bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
