Sarah's Giving Page
As most of you will know, my younger sister Gemma has literally had the fight of her life on her hands in 2018! from being diagnosed with an aggressive and rare stage 3 breast cancer known as ‘triple negative’ type on 14th May... to miraculously 6 months later, following the rigorous, intensive and draining chemo treatment from June to December, she was told that the huge 12cm tumour had been obliterated and was not showing on her scans any more, referred to as a ‘complete response’ to chemo! this was amazing news, unexpected and unusual... and the best early christmas present we could have hoped for! Today (7th Jan 2019) my brave sister has undergone major surgery to remove what is left of the offending breast tissue and she begins her journey on the road to recovery from a very dark place that we hope she will not have to visit ever again... I will be undertaking this challenge, (amongst others this year) to try to raise much needed funds to assist research to combat this evil disease...! Trust the doctors... the drugs really do work!!
