My Story
I'm running the Race for Life this year in memory of my wonderful Auntie Mags who was diagnosed with terminal cancer in January. Mags was a wonderful person who spent her whole life caring for her family without a thought for herself. For years she was the landlady of the Newbold Comyn Arms in Leamington working long hours but always smiling and joking. She has played a big part in bring up her grandchildren and more recently her great granddaughter. After retiring from the pub she was a full time carer for her husband John who is bedridden. Her diagnosis was a complete shock to us all as we thought this loveable pocket rocket was indestructible. She fought hard but sadly she passed away peacefully on 28th March surrounded by her family at Myton Hospice. She was very precious to us all and will never be forgotten. More needs to be done to eradicate this awful disease and that is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
