Please read my daughter Sally's story below
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. I am so proud to say my mum Sarah Davies and a team of friends are doing race for life in July for cancer reaserch her personal reason for wanting to support cancer research is this ..... Im Sally, Sarah's oldest daughter a mum myself to 2 beautiful daughters Chloe 20 & Isla 4, in December 2015 I was told that a melanoma skin cancer that I had removed from my foot in 2013 had now spread and I had become stage 4 terminal, I was told without any treatment I would have around 6 months to live. This was obviously devastating for me, my family and friends the thought of not being there for Chloe when she gets married and has babies and missing Isla' s 1st day at school is still a great fear of mine ! But thanks to cancer research and my fantastic oncologist Dr Shankland I was the 1st person at Derby royal to go on a new cancer treatment pembrolozimbab a type of immnothreapy that had only just been approved for nhs use a couple of months before, As i continue to get the treatment every 3 weeks the dream of still being here to see those things is becoming more of a reality over a year later! I've had very little side effects and feel great at the moment! Without the great work cancer research do new treatments such as immnothreapy would not be available to people like me! So please support my mum as she has supported me and continues to do so, in this great cause so we can raise as much money as possible to keep funding cancer research as this really is a race for life! Thank - you xx 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreakinng work, so please sponsor me now.
