Sarah Walks All Over Cancer

As many of you will know, I’ve recently been battling cancer (an aggressive hereditary form). Unless detected early, the survival rates are very, very poor – less than half will survive. I am one of the lucky ones – if I hadn’t listened to my mum four years ago when she “forced” me to go to the Cancer Family History Clinic, I wouldn’t have been diagnosed early. They put me at risk and without the yearly screening and it’s highly unlikely I’d still be here (if there was only going to be one time in my life that I listened to her advice I’m very glad it was about this!!). I’ve received amazing treatment during this horrible experience and I’ve now reached the stage in my journey where I feel able and would dearly love to give something back. So, I’ve decided to participate in the “Walk All Over Cancer” challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK. “Walk All Over Cancer” involves walking 10,000 steps every day in March. Together with a couple of friends I’m going to take it 1,000 steps further each day, which means between us we’ll have covered 1 million steps by the end of the month (which now I’ve agreed to it I realise sounds like A LOT!!). Now we just need your support to help raise funds in the process. Please give generously to help double the survival rates of all cancers. I won’t be so lucky next time but raising money will help change these statics for everyone.
