I’m running 10km in honour of my uncle, who has bravely battled prostate cancer and kidney cancer, including major surgery to remove a kidney, and continues to show incredible strength and resilience

My Story

💙🩷 This Sunday, I'll be taking on the Cancer Research UK Race for Life 10km at Nonsuch Park, and it's a run that means far more to me than simply reaching the finish line. 🩷💙 I'm running in honour of my uncle, who has recently faced an incredibly tough battle. After fighting prostate cancer, he was then diagnosed with kidney cancer, which led to a major operation to remove one of his kidneys. Whilst in hospital recovering from surgery, he required specialist care and close monitoring, highlighting just how serious and challenging his journey has been. Throughout everything, he has shown remarkable strength, resilience and courage, and I couldn't be prouder of him. Cancer affects so many families, and ours is no exception. Taking part in this event is my way of supporting my uncle, recognising everything he's been through, and helping to raise money for the vital research that gives hope to people facing cancer every day. If you're able to spare a few pounds to help me reach my fundraising target, I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps fund life-saving research and brings us one step closer to a world where everybody can live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer. Thank you so much for your support, encouragement and generosity. It truly means the world to me. 💙🩷 Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
