My Story
So many of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetimes. Sadly the experiences of myself and my family have denied us the chance to spend many more years with an amazing woman. Nicky, my mother-in-law was, and remains, much loved by a huge number of people and her legacy as a feisty, quick-witted and lovable woman lives on through Kim, Maisie and all those who encountered her. It devastates me that Charlie only knew her for such a short time, and that he recognises that Theo never got to meet his Gram. I feel certain she loved him despite never getting to meet him. He’ll grow up knowing who she was, just as his big brother does. *** Since writing the paragraph above back in December, my family have again been struck by cancer once again. It’s high time no one had to suffer its horrendous impacts. Here’s to a dream of a cancer-free future. Please give whatever you are able to this amazing charity. My Challenges In order to raise as much as we can for CRUK, I’ll be doing a number of challenges and events in the lead up to the London Marathon in October 2022. 1. 12 Runs of Christmas Within the 12 Days of Christmas (25th December - 5th January) I’ll be running a total of 186km. This will begin with a 10km on Christmas Day, followed by 11km on Boxing Day, 12km on the 27th and so on until the 5th January when (after a day of teaching!) I’ll complete the final 21km. * 2. CRUK Charity Quiz Night at Warden Hill Primary School * 3. TCS London Marathon 2022 - Sunday 2nd October!
