Shine Night Walk Birmingham 10K 2022

Sat 17 Sep 2022 - Sat 17 Sep 2022

My Story

Over the last few years, families and staff within our school community have been affected by cancer and, for the last few months, one of our lovely colleagues has been fighting her own battle. Sadly, 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime. As a staff we wanted to do something positive to try and make a difference. So we've got costumes, water bottles and trainers at the ready and have signed up to take part in Birmingham's Shine Night Walk 10K in September 17th. (We promise to share photos of our journey on our twitter page @Colmore_Junior!!) We appreciate that things are really difficult for people at the moment, but would be truly grateful for any donation, no matter how big or small. Every single pound you can donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground breaking work. Donating to our Giving Page today will help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Thank you for your support Mrs Harvey, Mr Bradshaw, Miss Bond, Mrs Mallard, Mr Padbury, Mrs Roobottom, Ms Rucastle & Mr Gale 💜

CAUSE

Breast cancer

With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
