My Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Giving Page. This year I am taking part in a few events for Cancer Research including the Big Hike, to help power progress for people affected by cancer. On the 7th October last year, we received the heart breaking news that my mum had cancer and she was given only weeks to live. On the 30th October her short fight came to an end as we watched her slip away to eternal sleep. Having just those few weeks to process the news and come to terms with the prospect of saying goodbye was honestly horrendous. Trying to make the most of the time we had left, but not knowing when would be the last time we'd hold her hand or tell her we love her. I am hoping to raise money for this charity to help fund the research needed that allows for earlier diagnosis, giving families more time. Time that we didn't have. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
