My Story
This year my life was completely turned around with the news I had stage 1b1 cervical cancer. I had no symptoms and it was only detected because of a routine smear test, which is as effective as it is because of years of research into early detection. To get rid of my cancer, I had an operation offered to a select few people which has only been used for the last 20 years or so and is still being developed with research now. My Trachelectomy and recovery was a success due to the incredible research that has and still is taking place. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
