In memory of
My beautiful Nan, Joan Wild
19th May 1941 - 28th Aug 2019
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This March I’m walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer. Help me Walk All Over Cancer and fund life-saving research by making a donation to my page. My Nan was diagnosed with stage 3b cervical cancer in 2018, she menaced her way through in true Joan fashion and she was given the best news, she beat it! She rang that end of treatment bell and we were all so happy. This strong, resilient woman had come through the other end. Sadly this joy turned to the most painful grief I have ever felt. On Sunday 11th August 2019 I called to see her, she was yellow. Her eyes and her skin, against what she wanted I whisked her off to hospital she walked through them doors but never walked out. We quickly learned that she was sick, very sick and was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma - bile duct cancer. She fought a good fight but she was tired and just 3 weeks later she died on the 28th August 2019 The treatment she received in 2018 gave us precious time with my nan and really did save her life. For anyone that has been faced with cancer the treatment is a life line for all involved. Help me give something back to this amazing research. Thank you Sam xx
