My Story
Cancer is happening right now, with 1 in 2 people being diagnosed with some form of the disease in their lifetime. This is why I'm taking part in the Poole Race for Life Pretty Muddy 5k, alongside some amazing teammates, in order to raise vital funds and save lives. Now it won't be pretty... and it'll definitely be muddy - but on Saturday 30th May, I will be running, climbing and crawling through mud for everyone who has ever had cancer, who knows someone affected by cancer or has lost someone to cancer. Far too many people are affected by this indiscriminate disease, including my husband Chris. In May 2021, we found out that Chris had a 10cm cancerous tumour on his kidney. Thankfully, it was caught early and isolated to the kidney, which was subsequently removed. We are amongst the fortunate ones. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so any funds you can spare - no matter how small - will be so gratefully received.
