My Story
When I was 26 years old, I was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer, they didn't even have a name for it because the strain was so rare, they had to put me in the 'ovarian cancer' bracket. It came as a huge shock and I had no signs whatsoever of anything being wrong in my body. It only came to light I had cancer after trying unsuccessfully for starting a family. After surgery I was told I would never be able to have children as they had to remove more than planned, this devastating news was hard to swallow. I managed to beat the odds and gave birth 16 months after surgery. The strange thing is....if I did not try to start a family, my cancer would have continued undiagnosed and I would not be here today, fit and healthy and have beaten cancer!!! 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
