Sam takes on Sugar Free February

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This February I’m ditching the sweet stuff and giving up sugar for a whole month to raise money for Cancer Research UK! Two years ago while my husband and I were planning our wedding both my Father-in-Law Jim & my Mother-in-Law Jennie were diagnosed with cancer. This hit our family hard, seeing our loved ones in pain and them not being able to help each other. The two of them fought and powered on always remaining positive through everything. While Jennie was responding well to treatments and surgery, Jim sadly was given the news that he wouldn’t have long left. Jim also had Parkinson’s but this didn’t stop Jim from supporting his wife and celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary together in June 2017. One of his goals was to reach our wedding in October. He successfully got to see his son get married and even managed to get up on the dance floor. Last year Jim sadly passed away at the end of March after a short battle with lung cancer. My Mother-in-Law Jennie got the fantastic news that she doesn’t have breast cancer anymore which has been wonderful. Jim & Jennie together were strong minded and positive people through the most negative of times. This has effected my viewpoint on difficult circumstances greatly. Now almost a year in remission my Mother-in-Law is a power house of unbelievable love and positivity. Still along with my Husband and Jennie, we mourn the loss of Jim.
