Sam and Jack's giving page

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We (Jack Beynon and Sam Davies) are hoping to raise as much money and awareness as we can for cancer research by completing various challenges that will push us far outside our comfort zones. We created the page at the beginning of Lockdown and have been astounded by the support it has received - we cannot express our gratitude enough. Over the course of these arduous couple of years, we were able to complete some pretty interesting (sleep-deprived!) tasks. Our challenges: --Walking a hill circuit (200ft) of a local street continuously for 24 hours (42.6 miles walked) --Shaving our heads --Completing as many squats as possible in a 24 period (Total 10,000 completed between us) --Completing as many push-ups as possible in a 24 hour period (Total 4,036 completed between us) --Walking the equivalent elevation of Pen-y-Fan on our stairs at home carrying weighted packs (500 repetitions) Our original list comprised a few other 24 hour challenges based in the Brecon Beacons, however we were unable to organise the logistics to see these through at the time. We're proud of what we were able to achieve nonetheless. We created this page with Jade (Jack's sister) in mind, who battled cancer through the pandemic and made it through her treatment. Her story testifies to the life-saving cancer treatment we are blessed to have available, as well as the resilience of the individuals such as Jade - and the families - who have to endure the diagnosis and treatment. We hope our efforts and the astounding generosity of those who supported these fundraising activities will contribute in some small way to the advancement of cancer research. Diolch yn fawr iawn.
