Uncle John and Uncle Andy

Cancer doesn't care who you are, how old you are, what you have going on, if you are about to be married, if you are about to start school for the first time, if you have no kids, or 5 kids under 10 all relying on you. It couldn't care less. Most of my friends and close colleagues know but not many others do, that the 1 in 2 was me, about 15 months ago. i was lucky, mine was diagnosed early and one very major surgery later here I am to tell the tale. I'm still a cancer outpatient for the next 5 years though because my type of cancer likes to come back, - and the fact that they know what they are looking for and how to keep me, and others like me safe, is due to the groundbreaking work of places like Cancer Research. I am doing this for my Uncles, John and Andy and for others still waging war.

Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
