Run Hackney Half Marathon 2017

Sun 30 Apr 2017

El Rituals and Jägerbombs are not what life's all about. Witness the fitness.

In memory of

Mum, Yannick's Mum, my Uncle, both of Watty's Grandads

My Story

Myself and my lovely friend Lauren, among other gorgeous people, are running the Hackney Half Marathon. We want to see if we can do it as we near our fortieth and thirtieth birthdays respectively, and having spent the best part of a decade partying like it's 1999, this will be a challenge. On a much more serious note, I want to do this in memory of my Mum, and Lauren wants to do this in memory of her two Grandads. Watching someone you love lose their life to such a cruel disease changes everything. I know there are people reading this who will know what I mean. I thought I wouldn't have anything to do with running half marathons again as to me they are a huge reminder of fighting and losing, but here we are. My knees are telling me no... Support us in our quest for good health, a couple more el rituals at some point and some happy memories. To you Mum, and to all those who lost the fight. Sally and Lauren XXX Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
