My Story

As we all know Cancer is a scary word and can happen to any one of us at any time. I am doing this 5k walk with several girls for one of my oldest and dearest friends whose life has been turned upside down because of this awful disease. At the very start of January Maria delivered the news to me that she had been diagnosed in December with breast cancer, as you can imagine she felt like she had been hit by a truck. Since that day, Maria has been nothing short of strong and positive, taking all treatment and operations thrown at her. She's had a seriously rough time of it, life is incredibly unfair sometimes. Those that know me well know that I was devastated when my Mum lost her battle to cancer some 26 years ago. Back then things were very different, we didn't have the treatment or knowledge available to us like we have now. It is due to donations and fund raising that we can have the technology and treatment readily available to us today, machines that can scan our bodies and clever Doctors who can interpret the results. So please, all I ask is that you dig really deep and help us raise as much money as we possibly can. By doing this we will be able to donate the money for research and even more amazing machines which in turn will make our family and friends safe in the knowledge that there is a bright future to look forward to, one step at a time.
