Here's to you, Claire!

Hi All, And thanks for taking the time to look at my fundraising page. This will be the fourth year I run 5k-10k for RACE for LIFE for CANCER RESEARCH, and I need your support once again. In the past few years I run for both my beloved Dad&Mum-in Law, who respectively passed away of very aggressive lung and pancreatic cancer. This year I will be racing alongside a group of wonderful women I have the privilege to know; we are called “The Female Wits”. We will run in loving memory of a friend: Claire Chate-Fawcett who, after fighting lung cancer for more than 9 years, at 33 years old, has just lost her battle and passed away a few weeks ago. She was a most talented, accomplished, committed, beautiful, caring, brave and lovely woman who, despite her 4th stage disease was always cheerful, caring for others and had run several 5-10k race for life in the past.  Almost one and half year ago she met the love of her life, Peter; they fell deeply in love and got married last year. The picture I chose of Claire is of her in medieval costume at Dover Castle, and this is the way I love remembering her: a beautiful, witty warrior, because that what she was: a courageous and compassionate amazon. And if she lost her battle against cancer we may not and cannot lose the war! Please SPONSOR me for this great cause and for Claire.
