My Story
On the 26th of May I will be taking part, along with my son and brother in law, in a race for life 5k Pretty Mudder obstacle course for Cancer Research UK. We are aiming to raise money for a great charity, I’m asking my friends and colleagues to help me raise as much as I can to help Cancer Research UK in their pursuit to provide better outcomes for those impacted by cancer. As most of you would be aware (and for those who don’t) my wife, Laura was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in March 2023. The news hit us hard and never thought this could happen to us. To those who have ever experienced a loved one to having to go through this terrible disease will know how hard it can be. After 16 rounds of chemotherapy, a mastectomy and another 14 rounds of preventive chemotherapy we are still going through the battle to beat this disease. Without the help of the medical team treating Laura and resources like Cancer Research UK, Breast Cancer Now and Macmillan the battle would have been a lot tougher. The worse part of battling cancer is the side effects from the chemotherapy. Its often not noticed but it’s so hard to watch a loved one go through all the horrible side effects, Laura has been amazing throughout the whole fight, even taking care of me on the days that I struggled. This is the reason I want to raise awareness and money for a great charity knowing that maybe we could make a difference to someone else’s fight against cancer in the future. I hope you can support us in our challenge and any donations would be greatly appreciated. Please find the link Ryan's Race for Life to our just giving page where donations can be made. Many thanks for your support
