My Story

10 years ago, I lost my beloved father, Richard Maria Winden, to cancer. By the time he got diagnosed, it was too late. He died within a few months. Every day I think of him. Every day I miss him. Every day I wish we'd had more time together. I want to do something special to mark the 10th anniversary of dad's passing, something he would have been proud of - and something he would have loved to do himself. So I'll join a charity trek along Hadrian's Wall, in a breathtakingly beautiful part of the world. Dad loved the outdoors. All his life he supported wildlife, from rescuing hedgehogs to looking after wildlife ponds, and perfecting his very own bird food recipe. I think he'll be with me every step of the way. Naturally, I chose Cancer Research UK as my dedicated charity. I am funding my adventure myself, so you can be sure that every pound you donate is going directly to fund cancer research. I am so grateful for all the help you can give. Thank you! Ruth Maria Winden
