I'm taking part in Race for Life to have fun with friends while raising money to help more people say 'I beat it'.
In memory of
Gamba, Plummy, Auntie Jane, Jana, Eva, Sarah, Rose and Tony.
I am running (fast walking probably) for two reasons; firstly I think it takes a lot of courage to withstand cancer treatment. It's not pretty or fun and I know many people who have been braver than I think I would in having treatment - this is for them. Secondly; more people than ever are surviving their cancers. I have family that we lost to cancer, but thankfully more who we didn't. I hope the small amount I can raise will help increase the number of people who say 'I won'.

Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
