Run to beat cancer

I started my fight against cancer just over a year ago, when I satrted volonteering for my local Cancer Research UK charity shop in Kilburn. I would go on thursdays after school and help as best I could. Tasks would include tidying the shop floor, sorting media, culling out of date clothes and more. Every October, Cancer Research holds the "Stand Up to Cancer" month, during which all volonteers and employees try to raise as much money to fight cancer. Last year my job was to stand outside the shop front and try and raise funds, counting on the generosity of the people walking past me. This year I wanted to take it a step further. Back in June, one of my best friends decided he would sign up for a race called the "Spartan Beast", a 19-22km race with over 30 obstacles. He managed to convince me to take part in what will be my greatest sporting challenge. Fast-forward to September and the idea that I could promote the fight against cancer thanks to my race came to mind. I put the idea to my shop manager and that is how this page was created. I am hoping I can raise as much as possible, as I have seen first hand what cancer can do to someone, how it affects their lives and that of their families. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated, and if you could share this link to as many people as you can it would be amazing.
