My Story
As a Nurse who works in Oncology, I have seen how Cancer has affected people in different ways. I have had the experience of seeing when treatments have worked for patients and they have gone on to have full lives. I have had the experience of seeing treatments that have allowed families to have more time together, and I have had the experience of witnessing people unfortunately succumbing to the disease. On a personal note, I have had family members who have gone through a cancer diagnosis, some have had treatments that have rendered them cancer free, some are still living with the cancer illness and some have unfortunately succumbed to the illness. Cancer research has stated that 1 in 2 of us will be affected by Cancer, which means more needs to be done in the way of research to learn more so we can tackle the illness. Ongoing research has been and will continue to be vital in order for us to tackle cancer that is why I urge all of you to donate. With research, we can find out the many reasons cancer occurs. With research we can find out how cancer works. With research we can find out different effective ways to tackle the illness. There is no end to learning.
