One of my reasons for doing this challenge is that it is coming up to one year since a very active member of the community was diagnosed with lung cancer, the rapid progress of this illness never gave him a chance to fight, he is and will always be missed by us all. A cancer diagnosis seems very common now, hardly a day goes by without hearing of another person undergoing tests for cancer. Though the treatment and early diagnosis has made survival chances greater than ever, I hope more can be done to eradicate cancer forever. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there.
