My Story
On the 28th of June I’ll be running a 10k to support Cancer Research UK. Unfortunately this disease continues to affect multiple people on a daily basis, from kids as young as 1-2 years old. When I was 17, I began undergoing tests for suspected thyroid cancer. Shortly after turning 18, I had a thyroidectomy as it was deemed the safest option. I’m incredibly grateful to have come out of surgery with good results however, having experienced the uncertainty that comes with cancer investigations at a young age, I wanted to do something to support the work being done in this area. Running originally started as a way to stay active and manage stress, but it's since become a reignited passion. I’m hoping this run will be a chance to push myself and contribute to an amazing cause and any support would be hugely appreciated.
