My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I’m completing the Walk 30 Miles Challenge throughout September to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. When I saw this challenge, I knew I had to jump in. Did you know that half of us will face cancer in our lifetime? That reality hit me hard, and it's the driving force behind my commitment to this cause. For most of us, walking a mile a day might seem easy, but for someone undergoing chemo, it can feel impossible. The exhaustion, the nausea—it's like your body belongs to the exorcist! But you know what? The human spirit is stronger. After the storm, your body recovers, ready to fight another day. I've faced my own battles—two major knee surgeries and a breast cancer diagnosis within three months. Life has thrown its challenges at me, but walking has been my therapy, my way to reclaim my strength. Cancer treatment has come such a long way, thanks to the relentless work of researchers. I remember when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in the 1970s. She spent months in the hospital. My treatment didn’t even exist back then. But now, with breakthroughs like immunotherapy, the future is brighter than ever. But we can’t stop now. We owe it to our children and their children to keep pushing for better treatments, fewer side effects, and improved outcomes. This is where you come in. I’m asking for a small donation. If every one of my followers, memberships, and groups contributes just £2, we could raise half a million pounds! Imagine the impact that could have. 🌟 Together, we can make a difference. 🌟 Please donate whatever you can. Let’s fight cancer, one step at a time. 💪
