Rosie's Race for Life

Thank you for visiting my page, the 5k may not seem much but only a few weeks ago I couldn't run for 5 minutes! Im running the 5k in memory of my mother Tina who was 56 when she sadly passed away after fighting Pancreatic Cancer, which she bravely fought for 15 months after being given only a few weeks to live. This was my mothers second encounter with cancer. When I was just two years old she had successfully battled Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Due to the fantastic work that cancer research have done my mum was able to have a revolutionary stem cell transplant. The survival rate was 50/50 but against the odds she got through it. This enabled her to live a normal happy life and gave me an amazing gift to grow up with my mum in my life, I was able to get to know her for her loving kind nature that she had. Unfortunately my mothers cancer had returned. And she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was given only weeks to live. She made the horrible choice not to have any treatment this time round as this was the second time around and the treatment just simply wouldn't work. Despite this she bravely fought on for 15 months before she finally passed away. She never complained about her illness and always had a smile on her face. She was the bravest and most beautiful person and is sadly missed. Any money that can be raised will go to Cancer Research so the fight continues to help prevent others suffering and help find a cure for this dreadful disease so that people can have their loved ones for much longer.
