In memory of

Aunty Jacqui. And Aunty Kate (Who is a survivor)

Cancer is soul destroying for any family.

Knowing someone with cancer, or who has had or even still has cancer is a big concept to take in.

Aunty Jacqui was a pleasure to be around, a gift to the family and an angel taken far too early. She never stopped giving wether it was presents, love, or the kindness of her words. She was at every childs birthday party, she never thought about herself , only of others. She was selfless. Jacqui had ovarian cancer. In the last few months of her life she was in and out of the hospital having tests, steroid, and treatment to try and stop the cancer spreading. She lost her hair, she became ill, unable to eat, she wasn't herself. Jacqui never stopped asking about the grandchildren, the family, and what she had been missing. To the point when Jacqui was struggling for breath and too tired to speak and move she would still smile, wave and kiss you goodbye as you left her until the next hospital visiting time. She was a gentle soul of who we sadly lost on the 21st of December 2016. To lose someone you love is an indescribable pain and heartbreak that you will never fully understand until you experience it yourself. You could almost say it leaves a hole in your heart. But the hole that is left think of it not as a loss , just space to let their heart live on alongside you. Which is what we will continue to do for the rest of our lives.

Aunty Kate, a beautiful lady, young, selfless, intelligent, and always happy. Kate had melanoma Cancer. The melanoma cancer spread to Kate's lymphnodes, she had to have operations to remove all of the lymph nodes from one of her armpits to ensure the cancer hadn't spread anywhere else. She also underwent two extremely dangerous operations on the brain, she lost her hair, her nails would snap and shred easily. The steroids made her body change dramatically, alternating between different sizes to the point you wouldn't know what what size clothes to buy because it just kept changing. She would bump into things, forget things, couldn't think of words often tongue tied. It was so horrible to watch, knowing there was nothing you could do. Almost seeming as if the person was fading away. Doctors didn't think she would pull through it, but one doctor changed that. He took on Kate's case and gave us faith that she could do this, we can give it a fighting chance at beating this disease. Admittedly cancer took its toll a lot faster than we thought. We was all worried, scared as to what could happen. One day our luck changed. Kate pulled through. Results began to come back clear, very gradually but she was getting better! Kate still undergoes constant tests, checks, biopsies, and her life will never be the same again. The thought will always be there, the awareness, the worry. But the most important thing? She is alive, she's healthy, her hair is re growing , nails strengthening, it is almost amazing to watch the turn around. And we could not be more grateful. Kate is currently undergoing oral chemotherapy to keep the cancer dormant, and it is all thanks to Cancer Research that she has this medication today.

Two strong woman who have and did leave two very strong impacts on our life.

Every life matters and your donation will make a difference. Donate today and help many people going through the same experience. No one deserves to have cancer, but they do deserve your support
