Rose's Race for Life
Walsall 10k 2019
Sun 12 May 2019 - Sun 12 May 2019
I have taken part in the race for life several times over the last few years, but this year it means something more. As a family we are facing Cancer head on and my Nan is currently kicking butt.
I'm fundraising to help save lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Cancer is a disease which many many families are affected by at one time or another: Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for 7.6 million deaths (around 13% of all deaths). That's more that one in ten! My family have had our own sad personal experience this year. However, I am privileged to know people who have been diagnosed and have subsequently been given the all-clear after treatment. That is due to the essential work of charities and institutions who are striving to rid this world of cancer. I am therefore asking you, to please help me achieve my goal of raising over £500 for Cancer Research. Regardless of how small a donation you give, every little bit helps. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
