Pat Chapman
My Story
I am running the Paris marathon to raise money for Cancer Research and in support of those who are impacted by cancer. I will also be running in memory of my Granny, Pat Chapman. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2021 and very sadly passed away shortly after. She was the most important person in the world to me, and words cannot describe how much we all miss her. Paris was one of her favourite cities and I know she will be smiling down from above! Having watched my Dad go through endless appointments and surgeries this year (and still remaining the most positive person I know!!!), as a result of a diagnosis for both bladder and prostate cancer, I understand now more than ever the impact that cancer can have on the family as a whole. This year, several of my dearest friends have also experienced cancer diagnoses within their family. I am also running for them and their families ♥️

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
