My Story

Thank you for visiting our Fundraising Page! #ForDad is something which I will be using quite often through our fundraising journey. I have always felt very lucky to have not just a Dad, but a best friend, from spending our days watching LUFC to having a pint in the pub, we have spent many years together doing what we enjoy most. However, my Dad right now is showing a whole new level of strength and bravery. He is currently battling against cancer of three different forms but unlike his diagnosis in 2018, this one is sadly terminal. We are unsure of what time our Dad has left with us, but his determination and mental strength is inspiring. He has smashed the diagnosis of 3 months to live given in 2021! So this is for an incredible Dad, Husband, Grandy, Father in-law, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend. #ForDad For Jess, this is also for the research that saved her Mum - twice! Unfortunately, her Grandma was not so lucky. We do this for you two too! ❤️ The money we raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured! Events so far: Matt has entered and completed various running events including the Yorkshire Marathon and The Great North Run! Jess walked 100 miles in a month...twice! A Dinner Dance Fundraiser An all day band event Matt and friends completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Matt ran 200 miles in September 2023 Mini fundraisers along the way A wonderful event run by Kev and Jo Nicholson Generous donations from our amazing friends and family ❤️ Up-coming Events - Great Gatsby Ball on Saturday 9th March Matt and friends have ran or biked from Elland Road (Leeds) to Hornsea! Covering 85 miles over two days on Friday 31st May and Saturday 1st June!
