My Story
In 1958, I joined the Ministry of Defence as a Cine & Stills Cameraman and Photographic Flight Observer. I worked mostly outside and often abroad in all conditions. I retired in 1997. My first operation for skin cancer was on my nose in 1987. I have had many ops and 'zappings' to keep the BCCs at bay. It is still ongoing. It is still horrible. My last op was a chunk taken from my left ear in 2020. It's time I did something to help towards research. That is why I'm taking part in my first ever Race for Life 5k at the age of 81, to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
