My Story
UPDATE 2nd March 2023 Our challenge is complete! George's karaoke evening was a huge success, Mum has had her PET scan (and our fingers are tightly crossed for a good result) and we're all feeling very proud because the total of donations and gift aid adds up to £3,000.12 which is SIX TIMES the amount we set out to raise. A huge thank you to every person who has supported us during the past 6 months. You are a blessing and the world is a better place because of you. Xxxxx ......................................................................................................................... UPDATE - November 17th We're getting there: Mum has completed her course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is coming up in December; Christmas tree books are being folded, bobble hat decorations are being assembled, squares are being knitted; George is contorting himself on a daily basis and is over half way through is 30-day yoga challenge. And, The Chandeliers are kindly giving the proceeds from their concert on 3rd December to Cancer Research. If you're local to Portishead and you fancy an evening of beautiful Christmas songs, please join us. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063614914803 THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT. ....................................................................................................................... UPDATE - October 21st Wow wow wow! We've raised over £1,100. It's been a busy couple of months with the Night walk, a pavement sale and walking 10,000 steps every single day but WE'RE NOT STOPPING THERE. Elizabeth has learnt to turn books into Christmas trees which she is hoping to sell for £5 each with 100% going to Cancer Research. She'd also like to have 12 inches of her hair cut off for the Little Princess Trust to make a wig for a child who has lost their hair due to cancer or another condition. Alice is frantically making knitted squares which she is hoping to turn into a blanket by the end of Granny's treatment. George is currently undertaking a 30 day Qi-Gong/Yoga challenge thru-out November and in December, he is considering becoming a human Juke Box for the night, to perform his favourite karaoke songs, on request! WE CANT THANK EVERYONE ENOUGH FOR YOUR SUPPORT. ......................................................................................................................... In August 2022, our Mum was diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma and throughout September to December, she will be undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. To show our support during this challenging time, we are going to challenge ourselves and our children will be joining us too. In September, we're doing the 10k Night Shine Walk in Bristol and, after that, there will be pavement sales, coffee mornings, squares knitted, sketches drawn and so much more. We are hoping to raise £100 each for Cancer Research.
