The mission is to achieve this ride no matter how many hours it takes and raise as much money as possible towards helping develop ways to beat this horrible disease.
In memory of
Colin Pope and Lezli Furness.
For more than 6 months, our lovely colleague Lezli had been fighting a battle with Cancer. Then being told she's unable to receive any further treatment and moving to Arthur Rank hospice, this is driving us to get this challenge completed while raising as much as possible towards Cancer Research. Sadly but peacefully, Lezli passed away on 18th March 2023. Lee's uncle Colin, a fellow biker, also fought this battle in recent years and unfortunately lost. Having left his Suzuki RV125 VanVan to Lee, this will be used for the trip. With a top speed of 60mph downhill (wind behind him) and an optimistic tank range of only 125 miles, what a challenge it will be! Background... The Longest Day Up 2023 challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK, for motorcyclists on cheap and inappropriate motorcycles to ride from Land’s End to John O'Groats in 24hrs on the longest day of the year. Bikes must have been bought for no more than £600!
