My Story
It has been my pleasure to take part in about 15 Race for Life events to help raise money for the fight against cancer, as I have watched too many members of my family and friends die from this dreadful disease. I am lucky enough to say that I can also celebrate some family members and friends surviving cancer, which was only made possible by the continued donations made by kind hearted people to Cancer Research, to enable them to keep researching for higher survival rates - thank you all. I would like to say a very big thank you and well done to everyone going through their cancer journey for all their courage and strength, hopefully on their way to a curative pathway - it is not an easy road to travel. I also have to thank all the staff in the medical teams that are involved in their treatments and for the support they give both to patients and relatives. This year I celebrate my 70th birthday and who knows how many more Race for Life events I will be able to take part in - hopefully lots more, but I would really like 2017 to be a year that really makes a difference. So please be kind enough to donate something - no matter how small or large - every penny makes a difference to someone's family - thank you xx Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
