Every year my work, Wolters Kluwer, does fundraising for Cancer Research UK as a part of our 'values day'. This year values day (17th October) is the same day that I start my next 'adventure' - the Lon Las CYMRU 250 mile Ultramarathon from Holyhead in North West Wales to Cardiff - so I thought I would dedicate my walk to Cancer Research and hopefully raise some money for a great cause. My last long walk didn't go so well. 230 miles into the 250 mile Thames Ring in June, I had to pull out with a leg injury that eventually resulted in me spending a week in hospital. While in hospital I met a guy who was told that, due to his cancer, he would never be able to live alone again. I will never forget overhearing that conversation and I'm hoping that I can raise money to help prevent other people being told the same news in the future. Please donate.
