My Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This February, I’m running 56 miles to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. My daughter Izzy is also going to do this with me 💞 This is in honour of my good friend and colleague Jen who has bravely been battling breast cancer (grade 3 invasive carcinoma) since June last year. She has undergone surgery and has one more dose of chemo before she starts radiotherapy. Jen had just come back to work as a nurse on the acute rehabilitation and trauma unit after having spinal surgery the year before when she found a lump. Jen’s attitude to her diagnosis and treatment has been one of complete positivity (and stubbornness!) to fight it with everything she’s got…she is the strongest person I know and she has inspired me to do something to support the fight against cancer in her honour. Jen is determined to do the last 2 miles of this challenge with me and we invite all of our friends and colleagues to join us or show your support on the 28th February (this will likely take place near to the Royal Stoke hospital site in the evening). I think that is enough words for now! Any donations will be gratefully received and I will be posting regular updates of our progress through the month ❤️
